In traffic, the auto stop/start engaged, and stopped the engine... but didn't come back up when I let off the brake. I shifted into park, did a brake press start, but nothing.The battery location in a Jeep Compass can typically be found in the engine bay, but may be in the trunk, fender or inside of the vehicle.
