Stanley Carter, 98, of Versailles, died Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Thomson Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, Kentucky. Born October 11, 1919 in Woodford County, he was the son of the late Sarah Barnett Carter and John Mosby Carter of Fintville.Carter Stanley was born on the 27th of August, 1925. He was popular for being a Country Singer. Remembered for forming The Stanley Brothers music duo with his singer and banjo-player brother, Ralph Stanley, this twentieth-century vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter was one of the founding fathers of the bluegrass genre.
