I've finished watching seasons 1 & 2 for the Original version and I'm halfway through the Sword Oratoria Season 1. I also understand that the anime is based on the light novel version. I'm planning on buying the light novels and manga for the series but wanted to know where the anime and mangas are compared to the light novels.The manga for Danmachi is only translated to where the the anime finished. Sword oratoria (spinoff) manga is only a bit ahead of anime and will probley be even by the time the anime is finished. As you said the light novel is only translated to book 8 /12.
