Decentl park with exactly what you would expect for an Amusement park Campgrounds. Nice well stock park store, unground pool. $55 a night with full hook ups if you have Season pass at Carowinds.Carowinds is currently under construction on the new Blue Ridge Junction area of the park adjacent to the County Fair. The name Blue Ridge Junction (2001 and earlier) pays tribute to the original area of the park that is located where the Carolina Boardwalk (2002-current) is now. Camp Wilderness is part of Carowinds and has RV sites, cabins, and a tent/pop-up area. Guests can purchase discounted tickets to the park. The park lists preferred hotels on their website.

Yeah, Carowinds is no Busch Gardens (who is) but it's a nice, well run park IMO and they have a decent coaster collection, unless you've been to Kings Dominion. Then you'll know about 4 of them already cause their clones.This is a 1976 map, despite the date in the corner saying 1977. White Lightnin' opened in 1977, but isn't on this map. It's so strange to see the park like this because it was 10 years before I was even born, and maybe 25 years before I started going to the park on a regular basis. A gigantic waterpark and rollercoaster theme park that actually straddles the NC/SC state line (have NO idea how that works) Getting in and out of the resort was no big deal.
