My 2016 Sonata SE with 28,900 miles has me worried a bit. Inconsistently, my car will have a short lived "shake" or "shudder" when I'm at a red light stopped and I when depress the brake and start to apply acceleration. In the moment between depressing the brake and pressing accelerator pedal my car has the "hesitating shudder ...Happened to my Elantra. The T-stat is supposed to be closed until the car reaches operating temperature, so that it warms up faster, then the T-stat opens and the coolant starts circulating to keep the engine cool. If the t-stat is stuck open from the start, the engine is being cooled before it needs to be, resulting in a long warm-up time.
