Positive reinforcement is a way to increase desirable behaviors and decrease undesirable behaviors. It involves providing a reward or reinforcing stimulus following the desired behavior. This reinforcement can be verbal praise, tangible items such as snacks or toys, physical contact, activities that the person enjoys, or other types of rewards.the removal, prevention, or postponement of an aversive stimulus as a consequence of a response, which, in turn, increases the probability of that response.
