The ESS battery is a problem. I suspect it has left more JLs stranded then any other issue. I highly recommend the TOW package for the higher output alternator and higher capacity battery for ESS equipped JLs. I suspect a lot of people are not driving as much due to shelter in place orders.Update: Jeep has been at the dealer for 10 days. Service initially thought it was 2 dead batteries. I went to pick the Jeep up from the dealer last night and the same issue remained with the screen coming on in the Instrument Cluster.Finally got around to deleting the aux battery this weekend as I needed to replace the main battery. Removed the main battery. Removed the aux battery. Taped up the aux battery cable ends very well. Removed fuse F42. Installed the new main battery. Started up the Jeep and everything looked good. Even the ESS Warning light was no longer present.
At least in the 3.6L those batteries are connected in parallel at all times but an instant at crank and during ESS events.
