An Apprentice only needs 2 or 3 Focus points for Smithing as well. A dedicated Smith wants 5 points in Smithing ASAP, and as much Endurance as possible. Both Smithing and Athletics have a high 100's or low 200's perk that lets you add 1 Endurance.
