Humira and lymphoma
Very rare reports of hepatosplenic T-cell lymphoma (HSTCL), a rare serious lymphoma that is often fatal, have been identified in patients treated with Humira. Most patients had also been treated with other medications for Crohn’s disease and the majority were in adolescent and young adult males. The link between HSTCL and Humira is not clear.Some patients on Humira and other TNF blockers have developed hepatosplenic T-cell lymphoma (HSTCL), an aggressive, rare, and often fatal type of lymphoma. Patients who have been treated for any cancer other than non-melanoma skin cancer may not be suitable candidates for treatment with Humira or similar TNF blockers.
