I got a call back from Castrol.ca and they do not carry an 5W30 with diesel rating equivalent.Like Roy said check the knob first, but by now the tractor should have atleast had a hydraulic filter change. Our "rebrand" JD1050 has been a real peach, No major issues since '87. It's sure enough a rebrand as it looks exactly like it's yanmar equal except for paint and emblems.
