Marlin League #26.The 1894 holds pistol cartridges while the 336 shoots rifle cartridges. 1894 is lighter, has a square bolt (which I believe may be more complicated to remove for cleaning, though I might be wrong on that). The 1894 is lighter and holds more rounds, but it's also less powerful than the .35rem or 30-30 of a 336.
