Introduction to women gender sexuality studies
Defining sexual desire and relations between women and men as acceptable and normal means defining all sexual desire and expression outside that parameter as deviant. However, even within sexual relations between men and women, gendered cultural norms associated with heterosexuality dictate what is “normal” or “deviant.”. Over the course of the semester, students design and execute programming for women at a local community agency. This is a writing-intensive course. Prerequisite: Intro to Women and Gender Studies or Intro to Sexuality Studies and Gender Violence (L77 393) or by permission of instructor. Credit 4 units.
