Jul 18, 2016 · Dear Ruger lovers, Unlike you all lucky guys on this forum. The SR1911 I bought in 2014 has got some CNC cutting issues on the frame which was causing some problems. I have discovered the issue after 10 months using it in competitions. I have contacted Ruger's customer service. Amazingly, Ruger offered me to replace it with a brand new one. SKU: 024664161. First, it will occasionally stove pipe cases while ejecting. Second, it very frequently fails to lock open when the clip has emptied. After @ 500 rounds there is no visible wear to the finish Ruger used on the frame of my 9mm LW Commander size SR1911. I believe galling was a more common problem when stainless steel semi autos first came out and makers have pretty much sorted it out by using different alloys in the two moving parts.…
